The knowledge acquision from learned scholars and intellectuals has been a very important aspect in the life. It was even taken prominent role in knowledge-based fields like Information Technology (IT). The ancient Indians developed framework called Anubandha Chatustaya – it was originally meant for reading /understanding of Vedanta texts and get benefited its fullest. But I will try to explain this technique for modern world requirements.
The “Anubandha Chatustaya” is important framework for understanding the texts of Vedanta/Upanishads. It can also be applied to our day-to-day life also whenever we try to acquire knowledge / expertise on new subject. Sri D.V.G (Well-known writer in Kannada literature) written very nice explanation in his Preface to “Shrimad Bhagavad-Gita Tatparya” book. Following table briefly explains 04 factors that constitutes framework.
The ancient Indians long back identified the above technique to acquire knowledge on complex subjects such as Vedas/Upanishads. Understanding those 04 limbs in detail would help to acquire and digest the new subject of interest would immensely help. It acts as the best filter mechanism for anyone to reduce the number of readings that may not be so beneficial. I believe, the same technique shall be adopted for any personal reading as well. It has universal appeal.
See - I briefly touched on this subject in my previous posts, but thought of touch base again on this as I found to be more useful in my own journey.
Reading Experiments
Reading and acquiring knowledge is a mandatory job in IT; there is no substitute. It is a knowledge-based industry, that empowers engineers to make mindful decisions on various subjects, for that, prior knowledge on the subject would play a critical role.
